Sample Essay #2 (Happiness)

It was revealed in a recent survey that happiness levels in developing countries are higher than those of developed countries.

Why is this so? 

All different parts of the world possess different status like developed or developing country as per their economical condition. Thus, developed countries, apparently, are having far better financial condition than developing countries. Still surprisingly some surveys unveil the fact that happiness quotient found in the people of developing country was more than that of developed country’s people.

If we compare, even the basic standard of living in the developed countries will sound lavish to the people of the developing country. However, when it comes to the matter of happiness, it has been seen that cut-throat competition, obligation to keep the intellectual level high propels the people of developed country to fall ill or they lose out mental peace. Owing to this, they invite diseases like depression and diabetes. Where as in developing country people remain content with the basic necessities so less stress comes to their way and they live with happiness and bliss.

Furthermore, in first world countries, the chances of getting social are very low because of the hectic life and social independency. As a result, more people become victim of psychological disorders where as,in developing countries people have more time to socialize with each other. On top of it, their social setup is such that they are obliged to socialize with each other through festivals or customs. That notion keeps mental illnesses at a bay in developing country’s people and they stay joyous and fulfilled.

In a nutshell, good financial condition of developed countries brings about comfort to their people but their lifestyle still lack some attributes to pursue well-being which brings more happiness than comfort can bring. Finally, I opine that more physical and psychological well-being is the reason behind such result of the survey.
